✿The Husband Store ✿

A store that sells husbands has just opened where a woman may go to choose a husband from among many men. The store is composed of 6 floors, and the men increase in positive attributes as the shopper ascends the flights.

There is, however, a catch. As you open the door to any floor you may choose a man from that floor, but if you go up a floor, you cannot go back down except to exit the building.

So a woman goes to the shopping center to find a husband.

On the first floor the sign on the door reads: Floor 1 - These men have jobs.

The woman reads the sign and says to herself, “Well, that’s better than my last boyfriend, but I wonder what’s further up?”

So up she goes.

The second floor sign reads: Floor 2 - These men have jobs and love kids.

The woman remarks to herself, “That’s great, but I wonder what’s further up?” And up she goes again.

The third floor sign reads: Floor 3 - These men have jobs, love kids and are extremely good looking.

“Hmm, better” she says. “But I wonder what’s upstairs?”

The fourth floor sign reads: Floor 4 - These men have jobs, love kids, are extremely good looking and help with the housework.

“Wow!” exclaims the woman, “very tempting. BUT, there must be more further up!” And again she heads up another flight.

The fifth floor sign reads: Floor 5 - These men have jobs, love kids, are extremely good looking, help with the housework and have a strong romantic streak.

“Oh, mercy me! But just think… what must be awaiting me further on?” So up to the sixth floor she goes.

The sixth floor sign reads: Floor 6 - You a re visitor 3,456,789,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at The Husband Store and have a nice day!

A Millionaire's First Love

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_sJc27zbU7YM/TMDlb_-vT4I/AAAAAAAAAUY/jhU7Z5IOvh8/s1600/a-millionaires-first-love.jpg

Cast :
Hyun Bin
... Kang Jae Kyung
Lee Yeon Hee
... Choi Eun Hwan
Release Date : 2006
Director : Kim Tae Kyun
Writer : Kim E
un Sook

A Millionaire's First Love presents the cliche story about a girl and a boy falling in love…again. However, the catch is: the girl is soon to die and the boy is soon to lose his inheritance.

Hyun Bin plays the arrogant millionaire who would soon lose all of his grandfather's money unless he graduates from some unknown high school in the suburb. Lee Yun Hee plays the innocent school girl who doesn't know her mother and father and has a terminal disease. They both meet and fall in love and discover that they have met years and years before. The story goes on to how they cope with Lee Yun Hee's hovering death.

What is disappointing about this movie is not only the typical and overused plot, but it is also how the writers and directors cultivate the story. There are many many movies and dramas out there that have the seemingly boring and typical plots but manage to pull themselves out of the stereotype with how they develop the stories. Truthfully, at first, this movie is quite intriguing. The pairing is a bit unusual and fresh. Unfortunately, as the movie unfolds, it becomes clear that this is just another tear-jerker wannabe movie.

Having said all of that, I have to bring some positive points to focus. The actors. Hyun Bin’s days as Sam Shik in My Name is Kim Sam Soon have long gone. His acting improves significantly and it matches well with the aura of the movie. Actress Lee Yun Hee also shines. She can ooze the innocence persona very well and make it believable. When you see her character, you would not think that she is a celebrity because she is able to look so simple yet still sweet.

All in all, this movie is good enough to fill out your spare time if you absolutely have nothing to do. And, set aside the fact that it is very much typical but look for the bittersweet interactions, beautiful setting, and of course the hotness of Hyun Bin.

✿The iRoNiEs of LifE✿

The ironies of life are such...

When you want a conversation, everyone will be busy.

When you need to be alone, people will seek you out.

When you want to keep a low profile, your private news becomes everyone's business.

Then, I decide to double cross Murphy.

I keep quiet, when I want to speak out. The silence works much better than an outburst would.

I smile when I am at my angriest. The argument ends without any permanent damage.

And sometimes, when I realize, I am not strong enough to bend will against instinct, I stay alone.

It should work...doesn't it??

✿The King 2 Hearts OST - Missing You Like Crazy✿

Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation, lives up to her title as the Queen of OSTs and participated in the soundtrack for MBC’s new hot drama, The King 2 Hearts (starring Lee Seung Ki and Ha Ji Won). Taeyeon finally released the OST, “Missing You Like Crazy”. This song serves as Hyang Ah’s (character of Ha Ji Won) theme song. Taeyeon successfully captured the emotions of Ha Ji Won’s character with this ballad by adding on to the character’s sincere and earnest feelings. Listen to the soothing melody and vocals accompanied by the gentle touches of string instruments such as piano, guitar, and violin.

In related news, “Missing You Like Crazy” OST is topping several real-time Korean charts!

Don’t you know me? The reason I’m here is because of you
But my eyes tingle with the cold so I can’t say anything
I just look toward you by myself

Even if the tip of my heart hurts like this
Even if the tip of my hands tremble like this
I can only think of you

The person I miss like crazy
The words I want to hear from you like crazy
I love you, I love you – where are you?
The person I long for, who is deeply stuck in my heart

I want to cherish you forever

What do I do? You were so cold to me
But I still miss you

Even if the tip of my heart hurts like this
Even if the tip of my hands tremble like this
I still can’t forget you

The person I miss like crazy
The words I want to hear from you like crazy
I love you, I love you – where are you?
The person I long for, who is deeply stuck in my heart

Please tell me that you cherish me
Please don’t blankly erase me
Because you’re my everything

The person I miss like crazy
The words I want to hear from you like crazy
I love you, I love you – where are you?
The person I long for, who is deeply stuck in my heart

I want to cherish you forever
I love you, I love you..

✿ Sand & Stone ✿

Two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey, they had an argument; and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand: today my best friend slapped me in the face.

They kept on walking, until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him.

After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: “today my best friend saved my life.”

The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, “after i hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?”

The friend replied “when someone hurts us we should write it down in sand, where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it.”

"Learn to write your hurts in the sand and to carve your benefits in stone. They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them".✿‿✿

First Thoughts:

When I first saw this drama would be airing I thought it could be one of two things, an offensive mess with stereotypes going left and right for the sake of comedy, or a smart drama that uses many of the Korean drama tropes but twists to create something a little different from the usual fair. I’m glad it was the second one.

Summary:

When a naive girl, Kai In meets Jin Ho on a bus, their encounter leads to instant dislike. After parting ways in hope of never seeing each other again, the two continue to run into each other. When Kai In gets the largest blow of her life (her best friend, In Hee, and her boyfriend, Chang Ryul, are getting married) she causes a scene and breaks up the wedding. Kai In is then left in trouble, she needs In Hee’s rent money in order to pay the mortgage she took on her father’s house Sang Go Jae. Jin Ho is not doing any better, his architectural firm keeps losing projects to Chang Ryul and he needs to land the next project in order to get out of debt.

When the next project is named with Sang Go Jae being the concept, Jin Ho rushes to get there only to find Kai In is the owner. Thinking he’s there to rent the room Kai In is uncertain, but her friend Young Sun convinces her to take the deposit since through some humorous previous encounter, she knows he’s gay.

My Thoughts:

What made this drama great was the acting, and not the trendy appearance. I walked away from this drama liking most of the characters and even characters that were somewhat one dimensional were played in such a way that they were easily enjoyable. After huge success with his drama” Boys Over Flowers" and "City Hunter", Lee Min Ho was smart to wait and pick a character that would be completely different compared to his past. Son Ye Jin as Kai In, while playing the usual naïve girl, was enjoyable to watch and while I’m nothing like Kai In for the most part I definitely felt she could win over female audiences in way that most female actors could not. Probably one of the few times where I really wanted to see more of the Super Rich Bitch, In Hee was actually a joy to watch and it was probably because she moved her face so subtlety to portray jealousy, fear, and hurt under her haughty exterior. Chang Ryul was probably the weak link of the quadrangle, but his back story gave him depth normally not afforded the second banana.

The plot started out slow, but quickly picked up pace as it moves on. There were plenty of AWW moments between the leads from him taking care of her through her menstrual cramps to her dressing up like a boy and pretending to be his boyfriend. The use of the gay plot line was helped by actually having a gay character that was smart and caring, and also in the fact that Jin Ho never changed his personality when he was accused of being gay. The plotline of the secret of Sang Go Jae at first seemed like extra but became essential later on and tied the entire story together in the end.

Overall:
This would be one of the best comedy romance drama that I have watched so far. The pacing was good filled with many memorable moments, but the dramatic elements were poignant and hit at the right moments throughout the series. When the show ended I didn’t want more and I didn’t want it to just end already so I could say I was finished. This drama is definitely a good watch for me.

✿ Mirrored Reflection✿

When I look at myself in the mirror, I see an imperfect person.

Just trying to fit in… trying to do my best in this crazy world. Sometimes it’s hard when I see people around me and I get discouraged, but one thing I constantly remind myself, is never to let them destroy my faith and beliefs. Because these are the things that make me the person that I am. I refuse to let other people get me down.

The world may have so much evil in it, but it’s also full of good… of love and hope. And that’s what I want to incorporate into my own world. Someday, I’d like to look at myself in the mirror, and what I’d want to feel is contentment.

More than anything else, I’d like to look at myself and be satisfied about how I lived my life. When all else is said and done, I’d like to be able to smile and say to myself, I did my BEST ✿‿✿

✿ The King 2Hearts ✿

Flawless combination of action, humor, romance, politic and human melodrama

Casts:

- Lee Seung Gi as Crown Prince Lee Jae Ha
- Ha Ji Won as Kim Hang Ah
- Lee Yoon Ji as Princess Lee Jae Shin
- Jo Jung Suk as Eun Shi Gyung
- Yoon Je Moon as Kim Bong Goo/John Mayer

 ♥ Synopsis ♥

The King 2Hearts portrays a story based on an imaginary modern-day South Korea Monarchy.

Prince Lee Jae Ha (played by Lee Seung Gi), a reckless Prince (younger brother of the current King Lee Jae Kang) is a very smart man, humorist and playboy Prince. But he doesn't want to be involved in the political issue, claiming that they're just puppets. Thus he wasn't happy when his older brother tricked him to join World Officer Championship (WOC) straight after he was released from his mandatory military service.

In this WOC, he met with Kim Hang Ah (played by Ha Ji Won), a top North Korea secret agent who is longing to be loved by a man. A tough woman on the outside, but has a very soft heart; she agreed to join WOC as her general promised that he would help her to find the man of her dream.

For the first time ever, South Korea and North Korea who were in the talks of reunification; decided to join forces in this WOC. So the WOC team from Korea comprise of 3 people from North Korea (Hang Ah) and 3 people from South Korea (Jae Ha, Shi Gyung).

Tension raised as the reckless Prince who didn't want to be in the team throwing lots of tantrums which made Shi Gyung (the team leader of SK WOC team and son of the Chief Secretary) picked up Jae Ha's slack. Hang Ah gave Jae Ha lots of hard times; but in the end, Jae Ha hurt her more than she could imagine.

After much bickering back and forth, Jae Ha & Hang Ah got engaged, but then the tragedy struck. This time, Jae Ha will have to choose the love he has for his country and the love he has for his woman. Who will he choose in the end?

The King 2Hearts will not only portray an unlikely love story between Lee Jae Ha & Kim Hang Ah; it will also portray a love story of Lee Jae Ha's sister "Lee Jae Shin" (played by Lee Yoo Ji), a free-spirited character who goes back to Korea to attend her brother's engagement. But an event occurred and she holds the key of the country's biggest tragic event. Thankfully, she has Shi Gyung who stays by her side and together.

My first impression about the newest MBC drama, The King 2Hearts (TK2H): it exceeded my expectation! It brings up the theme of peace, hope, love, and unity.

All the teasers that they've released didn't give impression that TK2H will be a black comedy drama. The intense feeling given in the teasers may caused the viewers think that TK2H is an action, romance drama. I love action, romance drama such as IRIS, Athena; so I have a high expectation of the TK2H. After watching the whole series, I'm shamelessly have to admit that I'm obsessed with this drama.

TK2H is not like a usual Korean drama as it depicts some of the sensitive issue about the reunification of North & South Korea (to achieve this, they arrange the marriage between North Korea's woman & South Korea's Prince). The writer has cleverly inserted some metaphors to create light humor in between, as the viewers love funny scene. But at the same time, the writer has also bravely raised the issue about the reunification.

And I have to say that TK2H's genre is not a black comedy nor melodrama. The first part is black comedy, but the second part is black & thriller. Strong heart is needed to watch this drama as it has a roller coaster scene which will make your heart pounding so much. One word about this drama: expect the unexpected. The writer is so good to throw so many unexpected plot.

The King 2Hearts is a really brave drama (and it's not everyone's cup-of-tea), raising the sensitive issues which may not be accepted well by the viewers. But I hope viewers can open their mind and not judging a drama based on its ratings only.

TK2H is a really great drama! Love the sizzling chemistry between the Couple and I can't wait to see where the drama will unfold. And whether or not the drama will maintain the light humor after the tragedy happens (spoiler alert! ^^). The witty writing, solid acting, great background musics & OSTs; as well as amazing cinematography; TK2H so far is my #1 drama of the year.

Some viewers may find this drama boring as it's about military, war, guns, politics. I suggest you to watch episode 4, it went from a prank which went wrong then to light humor then to a trust-betrayal issues then to the young Prince who wanted to prove that he's worthy to be part of a royalty. Combined with a sweet romantic moment between Jae Ha & Hang Ah, episode 4 is truly off-the-charts episode

King 2 Hearts you are officially nominated on my Best Korean Drama this year.

✿ A DocTor ✿

doctor.jpgA doctor entered the hospital in hurry after being called in for an urgent surgery. He answered the call ASAP, changed his clothes & went directly to the surgery block. He found the boy’s father pacing in the hall waiting for the doctor. On seeing him, the dad yelled, “Why did you take all this time to come? Don’t you know that my son’s life is in danger? Don’t you have any sense of responsibility?”

The doctor smiled & said, “I am sorry, I wasn’t in the hospital & I came as fast as I could after receiving the call…… And now, I wish you’d calm down so that I can do my work”

“Calm down?! What if your son was in this room right now, would U calm down? If your own son dies now what will U do??” said the father angrily.

The doctor smiled again & replied: “I will say what Job said in the Holy Book
..“From dust we came & to dust we return, blessed be the name of God”. Doctors cannot prolong lives. Go & intercede for your son, we will do our best by God’s grace”

“Giving advises when we’re not concerned is so easy” Murmured the father.

The surgery took some hours after which the doctor went out happy, “Thank goodness, your son is saved!” And without waiting for the father’s reply he carried on his way running. “If U have any question, ask the nurse!!”

“Why is he so arrogant? He couldn’t wait some minutes so that I ask about my son’s state” Commented the father when seeing the nurse minutes after the doctor left.

The nurse answered, tears coming down her face: “His son died yesterday in a road accident, he was in the burial when we called him for your son’s surgery. And now that he saved your son’s life, he left running to finish his son’s burial.”

Moral: Never judge anyone because you never know how their life is & what they’re going through”.

Broken

Broken (Will Trent, #4)

Synopsis:

When Special Agent Will Trent arrives in Grant County, he finds a police department determined to protect its own and far too many unanswered questions about a prisoner’s death. He doesn’t understand why Officer Lena Adams is hiding secrets from him. He doesn’t understand her role in the death of Grant County’s popular police chief. He doesn’t understand why that man’s widow, Dr. Sara Linton, needs him now more than ever to help her crack this case.

While the police force investigates the murder of a young woman pulled from a frigid lake, Trent investigates the police force, putting pressure on Adams just when she’s already about to crack. Caught between two complicated and determined women, trying to understand Linton’s passionate distrust of Adams, the facts surrounding Chief Tolliver’s death, and the complexities of this insular town, Trent will unleash a case filled with explosive secrets—and encounter a thin blue line that could be murderous if crossed.

Spellbinding and keenly paced, Broken is Karin Slaughter at her best. Here is an unforgettable story of raw emotions, dangerous assumptions, the deadly and layered game of betrayal, and a man’s determination to expose the most painful of human truths—no matter how deeply they’re hidden . . . or how devastating.

My Opinion:

Karin Slaughter always gives a pretty good thrill, but I'm getting a little tired of the whole Grant County scene. I absolutely love Will Trent, and I'd like to see him well away from Angie and preferably with Sarah, but all these serial killer-type situations in one tiny, minuscule, happy, joyous (as Slaughter delights in reminding us) town is getting a bit old, frankly.

It was entertaining, especially the interaction between Lena and Frank in the beginning. I was really sort of looking forward to a showdown between Sarah and Lena, but I think it was a good call on Slaughter's part to just leave out all the drama that would have ensued. In short, I like Slaughter's writing, I just really wish she'd branch out a bit more. Maybe change up the characters and the setting. I really like Will, but if dropping him is what it takes to add some spark to this constant whirlwind of Lena-Sarah-Jeffrey's issues, then I wish she'd just get on with it. Strangely enough, I don't like the stories about Will and Faith, either; she reminds me too much of Lena - harsh and forceful. You can certainly see how these characters have personality and come alive, but Will and Sarah by contrast come across as sweet, innocent angels to Faith and Lena's unhinged, unexpected rage. It's just kind of cynical and depressing to read. Amanda Wagner (Will's boss) could be added to this number too. Why can't the girls be more... balanced?

But I digress. 'Broken' is quite good if you're reading this author for the first time; not so good if this is your eighth experience with the books in this series.
