Synopsis

Kwon Sang-woo
Kang Yong-ki: A wayward guy who is an illegitimate son of a conglomerate owner and who never received love as a child. He becomes a pop artist, because art is the only way for him to express his feelings. He falls in love with another artist named Joanne but they break up due to her father’s opposition, leaving Yong-ki devastated to the very bottom of his heart. While feeling guilty for the breakup, Yong-ki meets In-jung and after much bickering falls for her confident personality but their relationship is hampered by In-jung’s first love, Su-hwan. The two eventually fall in love but their relationship is shattered when Su-hwan shows up one day.

Lee Su-hwan: Ambitious and eager to succeed, this man ties the knot with the daughter of a conglomerate owner to gain control of the company but their married life is miserable. To make things worse, he sees a rival in Yong-ki, the illegitimate son of his father-in-law. He falls in love with In-jung at first sight, but reality forces him to abandon her. However, he can never forget her for teaching him what genuine happiness and love is. He attempts to make her his woman again believing that he is the only one who can make her happy.























Although the story is a sad melodrama but the chemistry between the leads is a KILLER !!

This drama comes right after Scent of a Woman in terms of chemistry... you don't see such an intense hot chemistry too often !! Kwon Sang woo is such a brilliant actor and i love him in almost anything. Honestly I watched this drama for him... I still remember how HOT Kwon Sang Woo was and still is...♥

Mind Trouble

When we worry, we are focused on the future and our inability to cope with it. This leads to anxiety, stress and ‘what if’s?’.

When we ruminate, we are focused on the past, our losses and personal failings. This leads to thoughts of ‘if only’, depression, sadness and shame.

When we are worrying or ruminating, we are constantly chewing things over, repeatedly thinking about the same thing. The same thoughts keep returning and it is difficult to get out of this type of thinking.

This type of thinking tries to reduce the distress and overcome the problems, but we end up increasing the stress and making the problem bigger. It also interferes with clear thinking, daily activity and our ability to cope.

If we continue to use this type of thinking, we can end up with harmful behaviours to help us escape from our thoughts, such as self-harm, drinking, drugs and comfort eating.

The more we ruminate or worry, the stronger the habit becomes and the harder it is to change.

So, what can you do about it?

Notice that your mind is going down this rumination/worry route.

Tell yourself that you don’t have to think about that right now. It can wait until you feel stronger. There is nothing you can do about your thoughts – you can’t stop them, but you can choose not to focus on them. Set a physical amount of time before allowing yourself to worry again.

Do something that will take up your attention and help you feel better. What can you do right now that will help you feel better and what can you do that will take you a step in the right direction?

Synopsis

Based on the hit manga series of the same name, Bridal Mask brings viewers to 1930s Korea during the height of Japanese imperialism. Lee Kang To (Joo Won of Baker King Kim Tak Goo) is an ambitious and callous Korean officer employed by the Japanese colonists. Despite his mother's disapproval of his work and his own brother's antagonistic history with the Japanese, Kang To continues to play by the colonist's rules in hopes of becoming successful and bringing his family out of poverty. However, a mysterious figure wearing a traditional Bridal Mask always seems to get in Kang To's way. The Bridal Mask appears as a Zorro-like figure who protects the people from the Japanese colonists' oppression and abuse of power. An unexpected turn events brings Kang To to cross paths with the mysterious Bridal Mask, changing his future and the nation's history forever.




Opinion:

After King2Heart, this is another great drama that manage to capture my attention. Everything about it was just flawless. It had me on the edge of my seat wanting each episode more and more. I felt each of the characters pain and happiness, the drama left me speechless. This is not a typical drama to be cutsey and over exaggerated feelings.

It’s about the struggle for a free nation by the Joseon people (that’s how Korea were called by their colonialists back in those days)by a masked fighter called Gaksital, meaning bridal mask, cuz he fights dem Japanese wearing a bridal mask and traditional white hanbok. Korea was colonized and oppressed in every damned way by the Japanese (hello we share the same colonialist, albeit for a few years) But true to fashion, er drama-sense, our hero is actually not a born and bred hero. Far from it. Well, he does come from a noble family entrusted with the mission to protect King Gojong but when it failed, the whole family flee and his father died, Lee Kang To is left with his elder brother, Lee Kang San and his mom. They live a very hard life and Kang To had to work harder everyday to support his brilliant elder brother to university. But one day Kang San is caught getting involved with rebellions and is tortured so terrible he becomes crazy. That was the last straw that breaks Kang To that he turns to work with the Japanese police force to feed his family.



But as the story goes, Kang To causes his brother’s death and in doing so he then takes up the mantel, er, mask and becomes the second Gaksital, to finish up his brother’s work, only he realizes that Joseon needs him, and he realizes that he plays a larger role on determining the fate of his people…

Joo Won, the actor, breathes perfection. He’s intense and sharp but demure and sweet when he needs be. And Park Ki Woong who plays Shunji almost matches Joo Won’s performance. I was satisfied through the entire show and will recommend this drama to anyone who is looking for a great story, action, romance, history, and want to see some Korea fight back for their country.
